Curriculum Vitae

Lieve Dejonghe was born in Ostend (Belgium) in 1961.
After completing high school in Arts she went on for a bachelor in Arts Education at Bruges.
Later on she took specialized evening and weekend courses in drawing and painting at the academy of Bruges and in Ghent.
While teaching art in Bruges until 1995, she also worked as an artist painter, book illustrator and writer of travel reports and a journal.
From 1995 she took specialized classes from famous masters in realism in Belgium, France and Holland.
In 1995 she focused exclusively on painting.
Her current work has a unique image and language, its contemporary. It is a special simbiose of her abstract and realistic experience and soul.
She presently has a studio in Temse where she paints 8-10 hours a day..
